The people behind every piece.
Every Sutrayan piece is hand-finished in one small workshop in our workshop. Fourteen pairs of hands — laser-keying, sanding, staining, signing — make the pieces you see on these pages. This is who they are and how they work.
One room. Fourteen hands.
The atelier is a single-floor workshop on the quiet side of a quiet lane — timber stockyards on one side, a row of rickshaw-puller tea stalls on the other. Every piece on sutrayan.com starts, finishes, and ships from this one room.
Seasoned wood, natural stains.
We work in birch, engineered pine, and sheesham offcuts where the grain permits. Every stain is mixed in-house — walnut oil with iron-gall topcoat, satin polyurethane for pooja-room humidity (up to 85% RH).
Every piece is traceable to the hand that signed it.
The Certificate of Authenticity that ships with every piece carries a batch number. That number links back to the artisan, the material, and the date the piece left the atelier.
